On the Easel...
On this page you can see what paintings I'm currently working on. All the work here is unfinished, and in some you can see the various stages of development. Most of the time I have a number of paintings on the go. I work on each one for a few days, and then I move on to the next one. Very often, this is to allow a layer of oil-paint to dry adequately enough before applying the next layer. It also has the advantage of when I come back to a painting, I can stand back and look at it more objectively. If necessary, I can make corrections and adjustments until I get it exactly the way that I want it.
The Full Irish

I was keen to paint food in order to explore its textures and colours. Also it has to be appetising - at least to me, anyway. And what could be more appetising than a cooked Irish breakfast? |

The view of the Shannon estuary looking out to Scattery Island on a beautiful morning. It's a perfect day for sailing. |
